Hannity vs. Huckabee

Okay. This is the second time this has happened. Even though we can probably agree that they are both weenies, at least Huckabee ATTEMPTS to take a stab at being honest, whereas Hannity is the greasiest thing I’ve ever seen. I think of all the Fox News talking heads, he is the most dishonest and sleazy.

So, first, I saw Huckabee on Hannity talking about Michelle Obama. Huckabee had an interview with her because of their shared crusade against childhood obesity. It was a good interview. Then Huckabee goes on Hannity and Hannity is just out for blood when Huckabee won’t give him what he wants.

Huckabee: She was a lovely person and a good mom.

Hannity: But don’t think she’s a radical? Didn’t you think that she’s like, way over the top and trying to enforce her radical liberal community socialist fascist views on everyone ESPECIALLY the children?

Huckabee: Um, no. I found her to be a very nice person. A smart lady and a good mom.

Yeah. So then I listened to part of Huckabee’s interview on Rosie O’Donnell’s radio show about gay adoption – which you would think would get pretty heated and crazy pretty fast. I listened to the whole thing; it didn’t. They had a pretty respectful discussion about it, and Rosie made some good points and Huckabee respected her for it.

But then he goes on Hannity again and Hannity, of course, tries to drum up some controversy (and RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION) from Huckabee and again there is none.

Huckabee: We respectfully disagreed. She seems like a good mother to her children, and it definitely wasn’t personal.

Hannity: BUT DON’T YOU THINK THAT SHE IS A MONSTROUS PIG OF A WOMAN WHO IS CONVERTING CHILDREN TO BE EVIL GAY SOCIALISTS?

Huckabee: Um, no. I personally don’t agree with gay adoption, but she has a nice family.

So, while I disagree with basically everything Mike Huckabee stands for, and least he stands for it (somewhat) honestly. Which is pretty rare these days.

  1. I noticed Hannity didn’t say anything when Huckabee said “5,000 years of human history”. Allowing slips like that on prime time TV only alarms the 90% of Americans who aren’t religious fanatics. If conservatives can’t convince average Americans that they don’t have a secret religious agenda, then the socialists are going to keep winning.
